Some Changes

Hi Everyone!

Well it's been a crazy last few weeks for me. First hurricane Sandy hit us and I was without power for 5 days! Then we got hit with a snow storm. Then one of my kitties past away. I was feeling a bit sad so I decided to change my decor.

This is what my piano looked like before.

Then Halloween was right around the corner so I put up my Halloween village that my kids love so much.

We were hit with hurricane Sandy so the the governor postponed Halloween until the following Monday. So I decided to change it up a bit.

Remember my grandmother's glass that I turned into a candle holder, well I turned it upside down and turned it into a lamp.

Here are a few more pics of my fall decor. Just so you know this stuff is all gone and I've already started to decorate for Christmas. I usually wait till the Friday after Thanksgiving but I decided my family and I needed a little Christmas Cheer.

Last but not least a pic of my kitty.
Love You Always Midnight.

Thanks for stopping by.

First Time Cloche

Hi everyone! I had been thinking for a while whether or not to join Marty's Fall Cloche Party. I didn't think I had anything that could be a cloche but with the help of my blog buddies I figured out what to do.

This is what I came up with. I kept it very simple as this is my first time. I didn't even know what a cloche was until I started reading all your wonderful blogs. LOL

I just added some leaves, pine cones, gourds and pumpkins. I'm in love with the big blinged out pumpkin. She's gorgeous!

I will definately do more cloches. I'm already thinking up ideas for Christmas!

Thanks for stopping by!

Piano Fall Decor

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to show you my fall decor that I've done on my piano top. I LOVE the fall so this was so much fun to do!
All the decor is from the dollar store! Yay!!!! They had a whole section jam packed with fall goodies!
The little pumpkins and gourds came in a pack and they have glitter on them!
I changed out the flowers I had before and I added these beauties.
I removed the candles and added these real pumpkins that I bought at the grocery store for .69 cents each. Love them!
HAPPY FALL!!!

Piano Top Decor

Hi everyone! I'm gradually transitioning my piano top for fall. So far I've just added a floral arrangement, candles and some pine cones. The family pics I like to keep all year long. This is what it looks like for now as I know I'll probably be changing it again. LOL
I turned the glasses with the gold leaves into candle holders. They use to be my grandmother's but sadly I only have two. So I bought two additional glasses at the dollar store turned them upside down and glued my grandmother's glasses on top. Tada! Instant candle holders!
The rocking horse was a gift from my mom when I was nine years old. It use to be really shiny but it has lost its shine. I like it like this more, it has more character. Don't you think?
I've also stacked some books. These were another gift from my mom. They are from Britannica and I have 57 to be exact.
Well that's all for today. Thanks for stopping by and thank you for all your lovely comments! Linking to: Between Naps on the Porch A Stroll Thru Life Savvy Southern Style Ivy and Elephants Kristen's Creations Imparting Grace At The Picket Fence My Romantic Home French Country Cottage

Dollar Store Finds

Hi everyone! Where I live we have dollar stores in practically every block. Sometimes two dollar stores on one block! I love going in and seeing what I can buy. This time I went in to see if they had any seasonal fall items out and sure enough they did! Yay!!!! I wanted to find a leaf plate to add to my curio and here she is. She is so cute.
I originally wanted to get a orangey or gold plate but when I saw this one I fell inlove.
As I was walking in the store I saw this beautiful rooster. I love roosters!!!! I couldn't believe it. Did I mention I love roosters. lol Perfect for my curio. I have to go back to the store and buy another one before they run out.
Well these are my dollar store finds. I hope you enjoyed them as much as I will. Thanks for stopping by and thank you for all the lovely comments from my last post. I enjoyed reading them all! :) Lucia I'm linking to: Ivy & Elephants Kristen's Creations Savvy Southern Style A Stroll Thru Life The Charm of Home At The Picket Fence My Romantic Home

Side Table Makeover

I bought this side/telephone table about two years ago. When I bought it the lady that helped me out at the store told me they had just sold the darker wood version. The only available one they had was a lighter colored one. I was upset at first, but then I thought, I'll just spray paint it to match my other decor. Well it took me two years to finally paint it and I'm delighted with the results. I forgot to take a before picture but this picture here is a very close match in color.
This is the after results. I am so loving my table. I used Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Gloss in Kona Brown.
I painted the handle on the door gold and then put a little gem stone in the middle.
All in all I'm very happy with the results. I was a little nervous about using spray paint as this was my first time, but after a few swipes I was hooked. What else can I spray paint? Hmmmm...
I'm slowly transitioning to fall and the house is full of pine cones.
